Just stopping by to drop off some pictures from Smarty Pant's team baseball party. We kept it simple but had a lot of fun with the details. Since I'm 99% sure that a baseball-themed birthday party is in our future, I'm glad that I was able to do a little "research" and have a trial run with this mini-party.
Resources--
cake: Costco. Although I'm bummed that they no longer offer all the cake & filling options (just 2 choices now), I think the design is cute. Plus you can't go wrong with a decent cake that costs $18 and feeds 50.
baseball cake picks, confetti (on table runner) and banner (not shown): I used this baseball download and adjusted the size in Photoshop. For the cake picks, I added the kids names and attached it to a lollipop stick. Their team # is on the reverse side.
pennants: I used this font and gradually resized each letter of the name to fit the triangle.
jars for the pennants: I couldn't find cheap metal buckets, so I used my "stained glass" jars.
baseball rice crispy treats: My co-team parent and partner-in-crime made these and used a gel frosting for the "stitches"
table runner: Astroturf... For some reason I was really excited about the astroturf. I bought an astroturf rug at Home Depot and cut it to size. I'll be using it again for future sports-themed parties! :)
baseball plates, napkins, paper lanterns (not shown): Party City
autograph ball: We had all of the kids sign a ball for each of the coaches. Priceless!
I hope you had a nice weekend and, if you're in the U.S., a nice Veteran's Day. We had a busy and wonderful weekend filled with sports, friends, family and lots of good food. Plus we got to spend a lot of time with our favorite veteran... My dad! :)
Have a nice week!
