When I make a meal that the entire family enjoys, I take note. And when I place a bowl of food in front of my kids and their first response is "Mmmmmm!", I know it's a keeper. White Chili is one of those meals that pleases the palate, has good, simple ingredients, and is easy to make. Win. Win. Win.

White Chili
8 servings // adapted from this recipe
Ingredients:
1.5 lb ground turkey
1 small onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
olive oil
1 (4 oz) can green chile peppers, chopped* (optional)
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon oregano
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon**
dash cayenne pepper
dash white pepper
3 cans white northern beans or cannellini beans
2 cups chicken broth
1-2 cups jack cheese (or pepper jack for additional spice)
Directions:
- Add the chile peppers (optional), cumin, oregano, cinnamon, cayenne pepper and white pepper and saute for 5 more minutes.
* If your family doesn't like spicy, you can omit the green chile peppers without affecting the overall taste. I still add a dash of cayenne pepper though.
**If cinnamon in a savory dish doesn't sound quite right... It actually makes the dish. Definitely don't omit it and don't worry, it won't taste like dessert. :)
